Alex, our founder, is a Lake District girl born and bred, and is passionate about celebrating this incredibly special region of the UK. That means both championing the abundance of rainfall, and fellow Lake District businesses. 

 

We collaborate with native Lake District companies whenever we can. This helps us to support our community and traditional local industries, and it often has a positive effect on our environmental impact, too. 

 

We partnered with Chris Crofts at Herdwick Rugs for our umbrella label ties (rather than plastic!), plus Coniston Stonecraft and local upcyclers for our umbrella stand and display units. Collaboration is important to us, and we are lucky to be based in an area where there are so many unique and resourceful businesses. 

 

 

 

 

As you can see, being an environmentally responsible business is also important to us at the Lake District Umbrella Company. 

We have partnered with Ecologi, a UK based organisation who are dedicated to planting trees and funding climate crisis solutions. 

 

This means that for every umbrella purchased, one tree is planted - even more reason to stock up on your favourite colours and styles! Plus, we have signed up to the climate pledge by the SME climate hub, to commit to making our business greener.
